Thus, you won’t find here a comparison of the TV series to the book the Starz version is examined entirely on its own. And you, dear reader, shall experience the fruits of my laziness. Yet still, I took the lazy way out: I spared a few hours to mindlessly binge-watch TV. So when a friend recommended Starz’s version of the Outlander series to me, I experienced that pang known, perhaps, only to bibliophiles – not wanting to watch it until I’d read the books. They’ve been on the monumental To Read list for quite some time, but the list keeps growing, the number of (doorstop-worthy) Outlander books keeps growing, I have a ton of books I’m already reading, my time is finite and…that’s all I can come up with in the way of lame excuses. I should probably get something out of the way immediately: I have not read Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books. Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) and the henge of Craigh na Dun.
